How To Disable HIKVISION DVR/NVR Beeping Sound
Hikvision DVR/NVR first startup will have a constant beeping. After the hard disk physically installed, it is a must to format it.
Access to the main menu,
Select the configuration icon then HDD
HDD status must be listed in the page
Checked the corresponding box and click on Init button
Formatting process depends on the HDD capacity which you had installed, usually it takes a few minutes. Stay Cool!
Below is a list of exceptions to consider that can generate a certain alarm too
For instance, these are the settings you might need to take note:
- HDD Full
- HDD Error
- Network Disconnected
- IP Conflicted
- Illegal Login
- Video Signal Exception
- Input/Output Video Standard Mismatch
- Record/Capture Exception
- Hot Spare Exception
When any of the above exception is trigger, Hikvision DVR/NVR can perform the followings:
- Audible Warning
- Notify Surveillance Center
- Send Email
- Trigger Alarm Output
If your DVR/NVR is still giving that beep sound, one of the above exception is triggered
In order to get rid of this beep sound,
- Access to the main menu
- go to Configuration
- Select Exception submenu
Please take note by inactivating all these exceptions, you’ll lose critical information during usage
For example, if the HDD failed, it is necessary to notified the user and to rectify the issue ASAP
